The Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) has been engaged by Telstra to assist in identifying suitable candidates for their inaugural Telstra Regional Council (TRC).

Alumni connected to the ARLF, AgriFutures and FRRR will be encouraged to fill out an EOI for a place on the council. Acting as a national advisory committee, the Telstra Regional Council will provide strategic advice and guidance on telecommunications issues affecting rural, regional and remote Australians.

Your role in this vision:  

As a council member, you’ll have the unique opportunity to: 

  • Share regional insights and inform Telstra's T25 strategy. 

  • Review and provide feedback on Telstra’s regional and remote initiatives. 

  • Advocate for regional and remote Australians within Telstra  

  • Display leadership through engaging proactively and productively in discussions and assisting in identifying solutions.  

 If you’re keen to know more details about the inaugural Telstra Regional Council, please read the TRC’s Terms of Reference.  

Some important things to note: 

  • As a Telstra Regional Council (TRC) member, you will be expected to attend approximately three meetings per year;  one in-person and two virtual. Membership of the TRC is an honorary role.  

  • To be considered for a position on the TRC, you must be available to attend the inaugural TRC meeting on the 18th/19th September in Sydney. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.  

  • Telstra are primarily looking for people who reside in regional and remote Australia. Telstra are also open to applicants who live in a metro area but who retain a strong connection regional and remote Australia.  

  • EOI’s will be reviewed as they are received  

  • Telstra is looking for member diversity on its Council i.e. diversity of location, age, gender, cultural background, and industry.   

  • Although the ARLF is coordinating the recruitment process, Telstra will oversee applications and will have the final say on who they select onto their inaugural TRC.

You will need to fill out an EOI via the ARLF’s program application portal – known as Surveymonkey Apply (SMA).

  • To complete your application please follow these simple steps.

  • If you have used Surveymonkey Apply previously – sign in with your log in details.

  • If you haven’t used Surveymonkey Apply before, you will need to create an account with your email address OR – sign in via a third- party access like Google or Facebook. Both are straight forward and won’t take long. All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy  

Complete each section of the application. Click save and continue before advancing to the next section. Once you have completed the application, click submit.
